Principal fishery: Chain pickerel
Sutherland Pond is a shallow pond that provides good
habitat for warmwater gamefishes. During the summer
months, aquatic vegetation grows profusely throughout the
pond, and water temperatures climb into the eighties.
A thriving pickerel population is present in
Sutherland Pond. Excellent fishing for this species is
available to both ice and open water anglers. October
fishing for warmwater fishes is permitted here.
Sutherland Pond should continue to be managed as a
pickerel pond. The introduction or stocking of other
species is not recommended.
