Hit some rubble piles South of Pascagoula. The snapper were all too eager to jump in the box. Largest went between 25-30lbs, but most went in the 10-15lb category. Any bait that went down was almost instantly inhaled..squid, pogy, dines. We even caught a couple on float lines that we had out for kings! Ended up trolling a bit and catching some kings and spanish. We did have a unusuall catch for 60ft deep water....4 mahi showed up all of them around 20-25lbs or so...ended up catching one on a floatline, and hooked and lost another on a quickly thrown sardine. Fun stuff! The water was beautifully clear and the 3-4ft seas we had in the morning laid down to 1-2's despite the forcast for the ride home.

Headed out to my old favorite rig to find it has been removed between our last trip in October and now....bummed out I headed to another rig. It was nice....clear water and hoards of fish met us and gave us a personal aquarium. Lots of hardtails, a few cobia, and grouper on my favorite lure... We picked up a couple MONSTER snapper and almost cried as we vented and released them....maybe we will catch them on the 1st of June when the season opens. They were both just over 30lbs!! We weren't even looking for snapper either...we actually were trying to stay away from them and catch other species we could take home for the grill. Ended up catching a small cobia....of course the others that were with him were all at least 35lbs with one that would have gone 60+.... They didn't want anything we offered them.... Water temp was right at 70 and it was nice to have beautiful seas and weather for a change.

Headed offshore to the "radar" rig. Water temp was 65.5, air temp 72 for a high, 55 for low. Wind was E @ 10-15, seas 3-4, building to 4-7. Approximate catch was 5-10 snapper on the large side 10-25lbs, lots of 25 inch redfish. Left after a hour, tails tucked and headed in. Anchored on the Bar, caught 5-7 blacktips, kept 2 and about the same number of keeper sharpnose. 1 legal cobia caught by both our boat and one very near. Water was stained and 67 degrees at Horn.

Rough water, headed SE out of Dog Keys Pass in steady 4-5fters. Stop at the nearshore rigs and caught a few blacktip, snapper and loads of whitetrout that were unusually small 12 inches. Tried the ol' Horn Hole...didn't produce anything but a small sharpnose.
