Bartlett Pond was chemically reclaimed in 1959 to remove species that would compete with brook trout. Local sportsman constructed a barrier dam on the outlet and brook trout were introduced to provide a fishery. Regulations were promulgated to prevent the reintroduction of competing species and thus far only rainbow smelt and golden shiner have become reestablished.
Brook trout are stocked on an annual basis. Few trout survive past the first summer due to the high fishing pressure although anglers do report catching a few larger, older aged brook trout at ice out.
