Maces Pond is a small shallow pond
best suited for warmwater species.
Reports of the presence of largemouth
bass were confirmed in 1998,
unfortunately these bass were found to
have the bass tapeworm parasite. This
parasite causes a general deterioration
of health and can cause bass to become
sterile.
State Route 17 parallels the east
shore of Maces Pond. The parking is very
limited but a hand carry boat or canoe
can be launched. Extreme caution should
be used along this very busy roadway.
