Ballard Pond provides little water suitable for coldwater game fishes. During the summer months, water less than 10 feet deep becomes critically warm and water deeper than 14 feet is too low in dissolved oxygen content. Coldwater game fishes could survive well only in the 10-14-foot water. The size of this pond is such that the volume of water satisfying these
depth requirements is negligible. Ballard Pond should be classified as a chain pickerel pond.
