Bartlett Pond thermally stratifies during the summer months, but dissolved oxygen levels deteriorate below a weakly formed thermocline. This condition significantly
limits opportunities to manage for coldwater fish, and to a much lesser extent warm water fish. The presence of competing and predatory warm water fish further limit opportunities to manage for trout. Bartlett Pond is best managed for warm water fish.
Bartlett Pond was stocked with largemouth bass in 1966. This introduction was authorized by the MDIFW
and successfully created a self-sustaining population.
Angler access is restricted to permissive trespass and there
is a need to develop public access to this pond.
