Forest Lake is a small coastal pond where, until the illegal introduction of largemouth bass, provided a good spring fishery for brook trout. Very little spawning and nursery habitat is available in Forest Lake, therefore annual stockings of trout were necessary to maintain the fishery. The survival of a small number of trout through the summer was attributed to the presence of spring seeps.
At last report the dam on the outlet was in extremely poor condition. The excessive leakage adversely affects the water level of Forest Lake dropping the level by as much as 2 feet.
