Megunticook River Report
I caught a ton of largemouth and even a pickerel on the river a few days ago. The morning was overcast, it gave way to a sunny afternoon. In the morning I used a topwater popper in shallow open water. Throughout the whole day I pitched docks with many different colored senkos. As it heated up I nailed the bass along shady shorelines within a foot of the shore with senkos. Caught 6-7 bass on the popper and 10+ on the senko. In reality the lures/colors used and weather conditions hardly mattered. The river is lightly fished & full of aggressive/naive bass. In the summertime a full day on the river should get you 15+ bass per person.
