i just recently started taking my rafts to no name pond this summer... it is by far my favorite spot in maine this year... not only are there decent fish in here but its quiet n peaceful... love it...
Principal fisheries: Rainbow smelt, largemouth bass, white perch, and chain pickerel
No Name Pond thermally stratifies during the summer, but a severe oxygen deficiency below the thermocline significantly limits opportunities to manage for coldwater fish. Coldwater fish management is further limited by the presence of competing and predatory warmwater fish. Legal-size trout and salmon are stocked periodically to provide limited coldwater angling opportunities in this metropolitan area. Water quality is more suitable for warmwater fish, which is the primary focus of current management.
White perch are abundant and of rather small size quality. Although smallmouth bass are present they do not appear to be very abundant. Smelt are also not abundant and provide very limited angling opportunities.
Traditional angler access has been permitted over private land owned by the No Name Pond Association. This property is located off No Name Pond Road. A gravel launch provides limited boat access and parking occurs on the road shoulder. Current public access accommodations are tentative and could be terminated in the future. There is a need to acquire permanent public boat access provisions to No Name Pond.
