Located in Aroostook County in Winterville Maine, Lakefront Cabins of St Froid Lake offers a unique combination of Maine fishing, hunting camps and recreational campground situated in the North Maine Woods. St Froid Lake is in the Fish River chain of lakes in Aroostook County located in Winterville Maine off Rte. 11 about 25 miles south of Fort Kent. Fort Kent is in the northern end of scenic Rte. 1 in Aroostook County. Saint Froid Lake is approximately 2400 acres and approximately 6 miles long with a maximum depth of 114 feet. There are many clear brooks and rivers that empty into Saint Froid Lake. Red River and Birch River are the largest. Many times in the summer months there may be only 6-10 small boats on the entire lake, sometimes it will feel like your own private lake. The Fish River Chain of lakes begins with Fish Lake, a 2642 acre body of water with a max. depth of 46 feet. This lake flows into Portage Lake. Portage Lake is 2474 acres with a max. depth of 25 feet. Portage Lake flows into St Froid Lake. Saint Froid Lake is 2400 acres with a maximum depth of 114 feet. St Froid Lake flows into Eagle Lake which is 5581 acres and has a max. depth of 136 feet. The next lake in the Fish Lake Chain is Square Lake which is 8150 acres with a maximum depth of 122 feet. Then next comes Cross Lake at 2515 acres and a maximum depth of 46 feet. Mud Lake follows at 972 acres with a 20 foot maximum depth. The last lake is Long Lake at 6000 acres and a maximum depth of 163 feet. These 4 lakes also flow into Eagle Lake. Some of the largest cold water fish have come from these Aroostook County lakes.
