Have you fished at Crawford Pond? Be the first to comment on this fishing spot.
Crawford Pond provides very little
cold, well-oxygenated water for salmonid
fishes. Warm water extends from the
surface to the 28- foot level during the
late summer months, and below this depth
the cold water is marginal in dissolved
oxygen.
Crawford Pond is mostly suited for warm
water sport fish, and, should be managed
primarily for the bass fisheries.
Historic experimental stockings of brown
trout were terminated when public access
was lost to Crawford Pond. Although these
stockings were not fully evaluated, the
pond did demonstrate the ability to have
brown trout holdover to older ages. If a
public access site could by obtained by
DIF&W, the brown trout stocking program
could be reconsidered.
