Lermond Pond is warm and shallow containing no cold well-oxygenated water suitable for salmonids. Brown trout were stocked but when they failed to provide an adequate sport fishery the program was terminated. Occasional brown trout and brook trout are now caught; these dropped down from Alford Lake.
A very sizable white perch population exists which can at times provide fast fishing. Smallmouth bass were first reported in 1980 and now support a fair sport fishery.
A boat launch facility is located at the dam at Mill Stream.
